Duplex Design(House)

 
This is an architectural master piece rendered with the aid of mental ray rendering engine located in 3D max. The modeling was achieved with ease, no thanks to the high end designing software called Rhinoceros CAD which gave me the multiple options of utilizing its enormous flexibility in bringing out piece by piece of this house, based on my experience in making architectural designs.
 
After the tireless marathon of copy and pasting, the design climaxed at the roofing which must be catchy according to the client’s specifications. The 3D model was then produced which was later on exported to 3D max for rendering and animation. The still image was rendered and then fine tuned in adobe creative suite 3 which is equally known as “Photoshop”.


The next task was to setup the animation scene, which was achieved by animating the modeled car. This wasn’t elaborate due to the time and bulkiness it has on my computer. The animated output video was then compressed from 22 mega bytes to 890 kilo bytes with help of the RAM player which is located in 3D max, but of course at expense of the quality of the initial video. I took this decision because of how poor and fluctuating internet connections could be and the graphic requirements at the viewers end.

Design of Clip Support

 The above design is a clip support for a large part of mechanical system. As a mechanical engineer by study, I always see rapid prototyping at advantage and cost effective; the computer application packages gave us edge in making production less stressful and more economical. This design was actually done as a component to showcase what Rhinoceros CAD has over many ‘stereotype’ design software out there. I have use this software to design and delve into many branches of engineering with ease and also taught many “road side” techies to become full blown inventors.




With “SCAN & SOLVE” plug in, an instant stress analysis could be generated without following the usual part of meshing which could be more time consuming. Rhinoceros CAD has given us edge, in that we can start analyzing the result from the anticipated problem.
Anyways, let me not bore you with too many technicalities and go straight to the procedure I used is designing this piece.





I did the 2D and 3D in Rhinoceros CAD while the final realistic image rendered image was in 3D max with “mental ray” rendering engine on. The material was from basic “mental ray” material log, while the lightning was achieved by applying a single “sunlight” and a “direct target” light to simulate the visibility. “Ray trace” shadow was equally applied to achieve the shadow

This is a 5 seconds animation I did for for Ivan, Ivan is the head of process engineering who wanted a medal for the finalist on the table football competition. I took time to model the inanimate part in Rhinoceros CAD before exporting to the 3D max for animation and rendering.

I created a particle using super spray and  load a preset which could be located in 3D max. add a sunlight and target direct light to illuminate the scene.You could use so many methods  and tweaks to give life to your design and models. This same pattern can be use to show how an estate with different facilities will look like after the final project or in TV commercials and adverts.

Design of Wooden Table




Today, am kinda little bit busy and I decided to put out something for those that really appreciates the world of 3D designs. The knowledge and mastery of any “good” CAD software is a plus for those that want to pursue a career in that line and, for sure it has been established that it cost much lower to produced a model using CAD than building it in real sense. This table could fetch money and engage many people in work, as we know the demand for furniture is everly increasing. With CAD ability, one can quickly show case various and unique design  to his potential clients. The ability for CAD software to interface with 3D wood cutting machines of CNC machines will see this design being produced with high accuracy and efficiency.

 I carefully selected the combination of materials to give the final output a feel of composite nature of wood. The model is rendered in 3Dmax with Vray plug-in, the presets were set low to allow good rendering time, since I don’t have any graphic accelerator in my machine.
